Bethesda Little League - Summer "All Stars"
2008 Little League World Series (LLWS) Tournament
The first stage of all star tournament play is district level .
Bethesda LL is in Md. District 7 which is the biggest district (15 leagues) in our state. District play begins June 23rd
for the 9/10 age group and July 7th for the 11/12 age group. Second stage of play is at the state level (Md. State tourney
is second half of July for both age groups). Third stage is Regional level (first 10 days of August in Bristol, Conn) and
the final stage is Williamsport (Aug 15-25) and the LLWS. Both Regional games and Williamsport games will be televised on
ESPN this year. You have to win each level or stage to advance. At the lowest levels of play, most tourneys are either pool
play or double elimination. Our district tourney is double elimination.
Note: Only the 11/12 group advances beyond State Championship level of play.
